The Library under Charles T. Moore: The first McClelland Library Head Librarian

How could we celebrate 10 years at the Library without celebrating 10 years of Chas? While his modesty will never allow him to admit it, his tenure at the McClelland Library was essential to the Library’s success. The Library’s accomplishments are his accomplishments and the McClelland Library wouldn’t be where it is today without his hard work, dedication, professionalism, and creativity.

Charles, or Chas as most know him, was a board member of the Irish Cultural and Learning Foundation before being recruited by Norman McClelland to run the McClelland Library. Chas holds masters’ degrees in both Education and Library Science.  Prior to his work with the McClelland Library, Chas taught at and ran Mesa Community College’s Library as well as led the College’s Irish Studies Program.  In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Chas is a talented traditional Irish musician who we hear may go on tour with his equally talented wife Barb in their newfound retirement.
