In this powerful and revealing photographic retrospective, renowned Belfast documentary photographer, Sean McKernan, has assembled a rare collection of images that depict four decades of the turbulent history of a deeply divided society and the arduous path to peace. Covering the period of hunger strikes of 1981 through the 1998 peace process, and even more modern images including post-Brexit and the disputes about the Irish language in Northern Ireland, these visually stunning images are both epic and highly personal… shedding light on a shared history that continues to resonate with people worldwide.
