Jason O’Riain

Jason was born and raised in Newmarket on Fergus, County Clare, Ireland. He comes from a very prominent sporting family in the region. Before coming to live in the United States, Jason was involved in many different Irish organizations such as his local GAA and Soccer clubs as well as Clare Volleyball. He has also worked as Youth Leader in his local community.
Jason and his wife Denise (who is originally from Arizona) moved to the valley in the summer of 2005. His family consists of 4 very active Irish- Navajo children, Liam, Aidan, Padraig, and Saoirse. When Jason came to the valley he got involved with the Phoenix Gaels GAA club and the local Irish soccer team. While player/manager of the Gaels, they won two national championships titles in 2007 and 2012. Jason was also the Chairperson of the Southwest Division of USGAA for 3 years and still serves as an advisor to the division. The Southwest Division is the largest division in the USGAA and serves over 8 states.
Jason was elected to the board of trustees of the Irish Cultural and Learning Foundation in May of 2019 and his goal is to “make the organization the focal point of the Irish community while ensuring anyone that needs help within the community is taken care of.”
Jason still has many connections with the homeland and wants to help the Irish community and new Irish immigrants to the valley feel at home.
