Irish Calendar Photography Competition 2019-2020
SOLAS AR SHINSEARACHT – Light on Ancestry
“O’Brien’s Tower was built in 1835 by Cornelius O’Brien, reputedly a
descendant of Brian Boru, High King of Ireland, and marks the highest
point on the Cliffs of Moher, rising 600 feet from the Atlantic on Ireland’s
west coast.”

The Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library are pleased to announce a
photography competition for entries in a 2019-20 Irish Calendar, sponsored by The Hassett Law Firm, PLC.
The winning entries will be featured in an Irish Calendar, to be published in February 2019. Yes, the Calendar is truly “Irish” as it begins and ends in the month of March!
The Calendar competition will showcase photography from the Arizona Irish
community and will be curated by noted photographer Tim H. Murphy.
The Calendar competition’s theme is SOLAS AR SHINSEARACHT – LIGHT ON
ANCESTRY. In keeping with this theme, we encourage the submission of photographs connected to Irish history and family origins.

The closing date for entries is November 30, 2018. Winners will be notified by December 31, 2018 and a launch party is scheduled for February 21, 2019.
