Leslie Thompson

Leslie Thompson was born in Dublin to Pat and Rita Curran also from Dublin. She is the eldest of four sisters and one brother, all of whom reside in Ireland. She studied Electronics at Kevin Street College of Technology, Computer Maintenance at FAS Ireland, and Radio and Studio Operations at Ballyfermot Senior College. She joined Intel Ireland in 1993 and in 1995 she took an assignment at Intel’s Chandler location. She had various roles in wafer fabrication, technology transfer, IOT, human resources, corporate affairs, people systems, automation, technology development and as a manager. She retired from Intel in 2024.

Leslie has one daughter Sali, and her husband Hal passed away suddenly in 2024. She is passionate about helping others and has volunteered in many NP organizations as a consultant and board member. She is a founding member of Chandler Tullamore Sister Cities and is also a member of INAZ (Irish Network Arizona). During the COVID pandemic she led the lifesaving work the ICLF did in support of the Navajo Nation which resulted in an Irish Presidential Distinguished Service Award. She enjoys volunteering in STEM activities and Sali’s Rodeo events. She sings and plays the guitar and loves a good session! Her recent awards include Arizona Capitol Times Leader of the Year 2020 and the Intel Quality Award 2021.

Leslie is very honored to have served as the ICLF President. Her wish is to build on the rich legacy of the founders and support the strategic plan for future generations of the AZ Irish Community!
