Patrick Paul

Patrick (Pádraig to family) Paul is a senior partner at Snell & Wilmer, where for three decades he has practiced environmental, land use, and renewable energy law, advising clients on permitting, compliance, and complex litigation across the Southwest. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and has served the Phoenix community in public roles including Zoning Adjustment Hearing Officer and Chair of the City’s Board of Adjustment.

For Patrick, the work of the ICLF is deeply personal. The son of Irish immigrants, he carries the name of his grandfather, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Joseph “Paddy” Paul, who served as Officer Commanding of the IRA’s East Waterford Brigade during the Irish War of Independence and later as a commandant and artillery officer in the National Army during the Civil War. That inheritance has shaped a lifelong devotion to Ireland’s history, culture, and people, including as a traditional Irish step-dancer. A frequent traveler to the island and a longtime supporter of Irish cultural life in Arizona, Patrick is honored to join the Board of Trustees, where he hopes to lend his legal, governance, and community-building experience to the Foundation’s mission of preserving and celebrating Irish heritage.

A long-distance runner and finisher of two Dublin marathons. Patrick lives in North Central Phoenix with his wife, Amy. They are the proud parents of two sons, Liam Padraig and Aidan Seamus.
