OUR SEPTEMBER ARTIST IS JOHNNY KERR

The Irish Cultural Center is pleased to present the photography of Johnny Kerr as our September artist.  Come on down on First Friday, September 4th.  We will be presenting Johnny's photos, Darron Weston's music, crafters from CROFT in our Cottage and a cash bar.

Johnny Kerr is an award winning photographer who was born and raised in the West Valley of Arizona’s Phoenix Metropolitan Area. In the summer of 2012 Johnny took his
first, long awaited trip to Ireland. This opportunity brought together several of his passions: photography and his love of Irish traditional music and culture (Johnny has
been a student of Irish traditional music for approximately the last ten years). While there, he divided his time between playing traditional music and photographing County
Clare. Several of the photographs made during Johnny’s trip to Ireland have since been exhibited in galleries throughout Arizona and have earned him several awards.

ICC ON FACEBOOK

The Irish Cultural Center Facebook Group now has over 400 members.  We use the Facebook Group to report or repost the newsletters, events and things of Celtic interest. This includes Scottish and Welsh happenings, and anything that we find out about that might be interesting to the members. For those interested you can find the Facebook Group by going to Facebook.com and doing a search for “Irish Cultural Center Phoenix AZ” or https://www.facebook.com/groups/365254884335/ if you're so inclined.

There is a separate Facebook Group with 160 members for the musical side of our culture at “AZ Irish Music” or https://www.facebook.com/groups/247019138674060/ that is used to announce where bands will be playing or new CDs they may be coming out. This was originally started by our good friend, the late George O'Brien.

The Irish Cultural Center also has a Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Irish-Cultural-Center/151854331493569?fref=ts

The ICC would sincerely like to thank Ed Cunningham and Jim Daugherty for posting to our Facebook group and page.
