OUR APRIL ARTIST IS MARY THOMA

The Irish Cultural Center is proud to present as our April artist, Mary Thoma.  A few words from Mary about her art.
I've always had a love for Celtic knots and for drawing, so a few years ago I decided to try and draw the knot charm that I wore and that's how it all started.  I love to work with pastels, they give the softest look and make the shadowing look the best, but I also have fun using color pencils and markers.  I like to recycle the frames, so when I get the frame I try to do each piece to go best with the frame.  It's been a pleasure to share my work with people. It makes me happy to see people enjoying it so much. And I'm so glad to be sharing my work with the Phoenix Irish Cultural Center.

BECOME A PERMANENT PART OF THE IRISH CULTURAL CENTER BY PURCHASING AN ENGRAVED BRICK IN OUR HERITAGE CLOS

Your donation of $100.00 for a brick helps the Irish Cultural Center continue it's endeavors of spreading Irish and Celtic culture with the Valley of the Sun through it's many programs and events.  Each brick has 2 lines and 14 spaces per line.  We will then place it in the County of your choice.  This is a great way to honor your loved ones past and present!  Please contact the ICC at 602-258-0109 for information and orders.

ICC ON FACEBOOK

The Irish Cultural Center  Facebook page now has over 400 members.  We use the Facebook page to report or repost the newsletters, events and things of Celtic interest, this includes Scottish and Welsh happenings, that I find out about  to the members. For those interested you can find the Facebook page by going to Facebook.com and doing a search for “Irish Cultural Center Phoenix AZ” or https://www.facebook.com/groups/365254884335/ if you're so inclined.
There is a separate Facebook page with 160 members for the musical side of our culture at “AZ Irish Music”  or https://www.facebook.com/groups/247019138674060/ that is used to announce where they will be playing or new CDs they may be coming out, this was originally started by our good friend the late George O'Brien.  The ICC would sincerely like to thank Ed Cunningham and Jim Daugherty for updating our Facebook page.
