Celtica! Founding Director, Coleen Hogan-VanSlyke, and the Irish Cultural Center, are very pleased to announce that the roster of singers for Celtica! has been released after several months of auditions. She and Accompanist Melody Perry are beginning rehearsals on Tuesday evening, January 12.
Celtica!'s inaugural concert will be offered in our Home Venue, The Great Hall, at the Irish Cultural Center on Saturday, March 13th, after the Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Phoenix, during the Faire on the Cultural Center Grounds in Central Phoenix.
We would like very much to thank all those who auditioned, Academy Director Pat McCrossan who has been wonderfully supportive by this project, Operations Manager Mary Moriarty and George O'Brien of the Arizona Irish Music Society for their unflagging enthusiam and support of this project, as well as Celtica's Board of Directors for their gracious contributions of financial support for start-up costs and for being this project's biggest fans. We could not have come this far without you.
We do have a few openings for men still left, mostly basses/baritones, but a couple more tenors as well. If you would like to audition for one of these openings, please contact Ms. VanSlyke directly at celticachorale@gmail.com.
Celtica! is a small chorale of 16-24 voices devoted entirely to the music of the Celts throughout history; preserving culture and musical style. If you would like to book Celtica! at any time for your entertainment needs or for school outreach and other types of community outreach, that can be easily done by contacting the Director at the email address above.
