27th ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE & IRISH FAMILY FAIRE
Two funfilled entertainment stages of Irish music and dancers, kids area, food and beverages, crafters. Free parking and shuttle from 2600 North Central Avenue (West side of Central Ave & Virginia) to the Faire. TAKE THE LIGHT RAIL TO THE ROOSEVELT STREET STATION.
The Phoenix St. Patrick's Day Parade began in 1984. Its purpose is to preserve and enhance the heritage and traditions of the Irish Culture as well as share that culture with the citizens of Arizona. The Parade has marching bands, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, police and fire vehicles, government dignitaries, floats, the 2010 Arizona Irish Colleen / Arizona Rose with her Court and a whole lot more.
This year's Grand Marshall is Sister Raphael Quinn who is from County Westmeath and is the Principal of SS. Simon & Jude School in Phoenix and the Irish Persons of the Year are Harry and Sandy Carroll. Harry is a past President of the Parade Committee and Sandy is the past Chair of the Arizona Colleen and Rose of Tralee Selection as well as the current Secretary of the Parade Committee.
