ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED TO HONOR THE MARQUARDT FAMILY

The Char and Jim Marquardt scholarship has been established to acknowledge their significant contribution to the Valley Irish
Music community. The mission of the Char and Jim Marquardt Scholarship is to continue Char and Jim’s tradition of nurturing
local Irish music by assisting qualifying students of the art and tradition.  The Char and Jim Marquardt scholarship will be
awarded once per term and will pay half of the tuition for the selected students of the Phoenix Irish Cultural Center (ICC).
Interested candidates may apply for the scholarship by submitting the designated application for the upcoming term. A
committee, consisting of the members listed below, will review the applications and select the recipients.  A scholarship
will cover only the term for which it was awarded. A new application and selection process will occur before every term. The
Char and Jim Marquardt scholarship is funded by memorial contributions from members and friends of the Valley Irish Music
community. The administration and committee membership is renewable every term. The initial beneficiaries of the Char and Jim
Marquardt scholarship are the students of the Music Academy of the ICC. However, the scope of this scholarship may change at
the discretion of the Committee Members.
